The most common bag mistake isn't style. It's size. A bag that's too small means the charger lives in your coat pocket. A bag that's too big turns into a black hole where your keys disappear. The fix is simple: choose the bag around what you carry, not the other way round.
Step 1: Do the "empty your pockets" test
Before you shop, put everything you carry on a normal day on a table. For most people that's a phone, wallet or card holder, keys, lip balm and maybe sunglasses. Then add the "sometimes" items: a water bottle, a tablet, a snack, a scarf. That pile is your real carry, and it tells you which of three sizes you need.
Compact: phone, cards, keys
If your pile is small, a compact crossbody keeps you hands-free and light. Look at the measurements rather than photos. Around 22–24cm wide is the sweet spot for a phone and the basics.
Our Dumplers measure 24 x 14 x 8cm with a full zip across the top. That's room for the essentials without extra bulk, in a soft, rounded pillow shape. The Breezers are a similar size (22 x 15 x 10cm) but split the inside into several zip compartments, which helps if you like everything in its own place.

Medium: the everyday all-rounder
Medium bags carry the basics plus one or two "sometimes" items: a small umbrella, a cardigan or a paperback. This is the size most people end up using every day.
The Loopers have a medium interior that fits a phone, wallet and keys without bulk, and close with a single drawstring pull instead of a zipper. They come in eight colors, from Black to Wine Red, so they're easy to match to a wardrobe.
Oversized: commuters, students and over-packers
If your pile includes a laptop sleeve, a water bottle or a gym top, go big. A tote or hobo bag with a high-capacity interior means you aren't juggling a second bag.
The Toters were built for exactly this: a soft, slouchy hobo shape with a zip top, so nothing spills out on a busy train. If you prefer something softer and more seasonal, the Fluffers plush tote measures 42 x 30 x 16cm. That's about as wide as your torso and fits a surprising amount.

Three questions to ask before you buy
- Zip or open top? Zips are safer for commuting and travel. Drawstrings and open tops are quicker to get into.
- Crossbody or shoulder? Crossbody spreads the weight and keeps your hands free. A shoulder strap is easier to take on and off.
- How full will it be on a normal day? A bag that's around 70% full looks best and is easiest to search through.
The bottom line
Start with what you carry, check the real measurements, and choose the closure that suits your routine. If you're between two sizes, pick the one that fits your "sometimes" items. You'll use it more.
